How to debug web or hybrid apps on iOS without having Apple computer

If you have iOS specific bug and you’re Windows/Linux user, most likely question is: “How do I debug this?”.

The answer lies in two Github repos.

Step 1.

Install ios-webkit-debug-proxy

I use Linux, so it looks like this

Step 2.

Install remotedebug-ios-webkit-adapter

Step 3.

Run remotedubg-ios-webkit-adapter

Step 4.

Setup Chrome Target discovery settings

Step 5.

On iOS device, go to Settings -> Safari -> Advanced settings and enable Web Inspector

Korak 6.

Open a web view application you want to debug or site you want to debug in Safari and happy debugging.

I’ve successfully tested this approach with Cordova app and plain old website, and both worked fine.
